TomTom Western Europe App Reviews

Hello, I have purchased TomTom Western Europe and TomTom Eastern Europe and it seems these both cant co-operate together. I need to plan a trip across the borders between the West and the East. I would like to not spend another money for TomTom Europe. Is it possible to exchange TomTom Western Europe and TomTom Eastern Europe for just TomTom Europe? In the time of separate purchases the complete version didnt exist. Regards, Zdenek

No matter what I do I can not get the traffic to restore. Big ripoff, I an done with Tom Tom

I bought this app for a trip to Europe since I wasnt going to have access to data. I found the app unusable and instead relied on occasional hot spot access and google or apple maps. The user interface is poor and the flickering / refresh when browsing maps drove me nuts. Combine that with a slow synch with GPS signal and you have an unusable product.

Crashes randomly in IOS7.1. Goes to home screen. Not easily when used in a car to restart the app all the time. Useless when tomtom apparently do not fix it.

Yes its a bit expensive app but it does exactly like tomtom devices and you dont need internet mostly while roaming in Europe it works perfectly.

I purchased TomTom so that I would have the maps on my phone & not need to rely on data plan to download them. In that respect it worked fine. I also like the feature which shows which lane to be in - makes navigating freeways here much easier. However, issues I have are: 1. The speed camera app is worthless. Dont waste your money. When it does display something, it just beeps & displays an indeciperable icon, with no indication of how far to the camera. Waze is much better in this regard. 2. The traffic data is even worse. I thought it would adjust routes and/or ETA based on traffic data, but appears to do neither. Again, it beeps & display an indecipherable icon when it thinks there is an issue. It also beeps when you enter a construction area, and again when you leave. I went through an area in Italy where it was beeping about every 30 seconds because there were several construction sites along the route. Very obnoxious. I tried to turn it off, but was unable to. 3. The engine for displaying the maps (when browsing the map) is very old technology. It is very slow and constantly re-displays the map when you expand or shrink. Very frustrating to use. 4. I bought just Western Europe because I did not expect to be driving in Eastern Europe. Of course, on my first trip I decide to go to Hungary and Slovakia. And of course it was useless there - also even when I was in Austria I couldnt use it because my end point was in Hungary. Why not an in-app option to purchase maps for additional countries? I would have been more than willing to pay a fair price. But ended up using Waze.

Still no update for iP6 and iP6plus

Im not happy with the latest software update to TomTom GPS App. The new version does not call out the street names when you need to turn or merge onto other freeways. Driving in traffic is difficult enough and looking down to try to determine the street to turn on is not safe. Please change the software back to what I purchased.
